Mill Street

Just back rom the second weekend jumping at The Green Glens arena in Mill Street where the Duggan family as usual put on a great weekend of sport.
Over the Easter Weekend Fraser fine tuned some of the boys that had been left behind when we went on the Sunshine Tour. Sea Top Boy really excelled himself and jumped some amazing rounds in the 130cms classes which delighted his owner Deidre Lannigan. I handed over the reins to Fraser of Fernhill Boo Radley as he has really grown in our absence and the whole picture with my 5’2″ frame just did not look right. He posted some great palcings in the 1.10cms classes and is all set for his CNC* debut this weekend.
Our Secret Weapon the 5 year old Fernhill Casano was very impressive when winning the Jump Cross speed class and despite Fraser forgetting his Sat Nav was 2nd in the 90cms final.
My two rides Primus and Mayhem where their usual little stars and we had great fun galloping against the clock giving the show jumpers a run for their money.
This weekend saw the end of the tour and I went without Fraser who decided to get back to the job in hand and enter Ballinaclough.
Mayhem had obviously been watching the jumping boys last week and pulled out all the stops to win the 1.10cms and the 1.15cms classes on the opening day. though his stablemate Primus was faster both times he left the final fence on the floor!
My amazing 5 year old pony made her debut under the Fernhill banner this weekend took 3rd place in the 1m pony final. A rub at the second fence in the 1.10cms class stoped her having a cut against the clock which actually was probably a blessing in discuise as at just 5 years this was a big track and a gallop around the jump off was not what she needed! Well done to my pony jockey Kate Derwin who as usual rode with maturity beyond her years of just 11.
So all set now to get back to our eventing season with Ballinaclough tomorrow. Four horses in the CNC** class will test Frasers organisation and his back up team.
Watch this space for results.
