Camphire International

Once again The Brady’s and their team ran a superb event at Camphire House. After recent weather and all the cancellations we were all delighted to get out and apart from a few spots on Saturday the rain all but stayed away.
It was a real international field this year and its great to see this event growing. Up grading to 3 star level was a real draw.
Our own Fernhill Ultimate was 2nd in the CCI 2 star to Austin Oconnor with the stunning Balham Houdini.
Quiverhill Joshua and Fernhill Tell Tale both put up good performances in the CIC* 6 yar old section which was very competitive and finished 8th and 10th respectivly.
There was dissapointment alround when due to the risk of cutting up the ground for the International competitors the National classes had to be abandoned after the dressage phase.
However the running of the new Masterclass for 4 year olds provided a great evening entertainment and some really classy horses came forward.
I rode Fernhill Flame myself as Fraser was busy with the International horses and even if I do say it myself did a very commendable job to fininsh 5th. I had never sat on him before but I have to say he was such a lovely ride I have decided to stay in the saddle for Mill Street and Dublin.
As they say….watch this space!!
